Call for Nominations – 2025 Club Election

Per our Club’s constitution, we will hold our bi-annual election of club officers this February. The election will elect our executive board, whose members will serve a two-year term beginning March 2025. Each position is described below:

  • The President is the Chairperson and principal officer of the Club. The President enforces adherence to the club’s Constitution, appoints all standing and special committee chairs, calls Executive Board meetings and special membership meetings, presides at all meetings, supervises other officers in the performance of duties, mediates all disputes that may arise within the Club, and performs all other acts as required by the Constitution.
  • Vice-Presidents (2) act for the President in the event of absence. The Vice Presidents perform such duties as the President delegates to them and serve as the President’s chief administrators and representatives. Our club has a First Vice-President and Second Vice-President. Per our Constitution, the President and First Vice-President must be of different genders.
  • The Treasurer reports the condition of the Club’s finances at all Executive Board and General Membership meetings and receives all membership dues. The Treasurer maintains a current roster of dues-paying members.
  • The Recording Secretary reads the roll call of the Executive Board, records attendance at each meeting, and takes the minutes of the general membership, Executive Board, and any special meetings.
  • The Corresponding Secretary notifies the membership of the time and place of any membership meeting, and Executive Board members of each meeting of that body. The Corresponding Secretary reads all correspondence referred by the President and serves as the point person for club communications.
  • The Parliamentarian enforces adherence to Robert’s rules of order at meetings.
  • The Trustees (3) constitute the Board of Trustees and audit the Club’s financial records, reporting to the membership at least once per calendar year.
  • The Sergeants-at-Arms (2) are responsible for maintaining order at all general membership and Executive Board meetings.

The club’s Political Action Committee (PAC) consists of the club president, treasurer, recording secretary, and four voting members appointed by the president and approved by the executive board.

To be eligible to run in the 2025 election, you must be a Dearborn resident and a 2024 club member. To vote in the election, you must have been a 2024 member or a paid 2025 member by January 29, 2025. Use this ActBlue link to become a club member.
