Statement from DDC Club Member Abu Dhafer Ali Baleed Almaklani

“Be proud of your voice and vote. Don’t waste your constitutional right.

The election campaigns in the United States of America are in their last days and hours, but they will not end until the ballot boxes close on the evening of November 5, 2024.

For months, efforts have been made in the election campaigns and in one way or another, many American citizens, including Arab and Muslim Americans, have contributed to the preparation through meetings, donations, moral and media support including social media, audio, print, and visual ads.

The American journalist, Mr. Bill Vaughan said: ‘The American citizen crosses oceans to fight for democracy, but he does not cross the street to go vote on the national election day!’

So let us turn our words into actions and crown all the efforts made in the election campaigns with our votes on Election Day. Voting is a duty. We must urge and remind our families, friends, and everyone we know to exercise their constitutional right to go to the ballot boxes to cast their votes and elect candidates who have competence and experience. It is an opportunity for the Arab-Islamic-American community to respond to the voices of hatred with its electoral vote.

As an American Democrat, I urge and encourage the election of Democratic candidates, headed by Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz.

Why?

They have a clear electoral program and goals that benefit the vast majority of the American people.

Their statements in the election campaign, their victory, and their ability to answer the questions of the moderators of the debate encourages to you vote for them.

Her support for the establishment of the Palestinian and Israeli states and her support for stopping the war, unlike her competitor who threatened the Jews that their state would end if he lost the elections.

On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, let us elect the first woman for the American presidency in the history of our country, the United States of America.

Let us elect someone who builds and extends bridges with the interior and the exterior, not someone who will build separation walls. Let us elect someone who respects the freedom of religions and beliefs, women, minorities and nationalities, diversity, and rejects hatred, not someone who will do the opposite.

Let us elect someone who will protect immigrants, not someone who will work to deport them.

America is the land of immigrants and was built by their hands and ideas until America became the strongest country in the world.

Vote, vote, vote on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Remember that your voice is your strength and that your vote will decide the fate of your future, the future of your children, and the country. Do not miss the opportunity and vote and be proud of the right to practice democracy in the land of democracy.”

Respectfully, Abu Dhafer Ali Baleed Almaklani
